Fraud and online caution
Do you suspect a scammer is selling or trying to buy a RV? Please report to us the listing number and/or email in question here. You can also report it to the FBI at the Internet Crime Complaint Center
Fraud Triggers
Two or more of these should be a warning:
- Seller is currently out of the country or on vacation
- Buyer protection program suggested like Ebay, Amazon, etc;
- Google Checkout
- Phone number not working
- Will pay you extra so you can pay shipper
- Can't inspect the RV
- Cruise ship
- Shipping company
- RV is in storage
- RV is in different location than seller
- Be aware of listings claiming to have the RV overseas
- Escrow service
- Email address from free service like hotmail, gmail or yahoo
- Won't supply VIN number
- Need deposit before visit
- Wiring Money
- You are given a link to see a receipt
